Pictured below are award winning quilts from the September 2001 Texas County Fair, Guymon, Oklahoma. Please take a few minutes to enjoy the wide variety exhibited. As you look at them please notice the quilt maker as well as the quilter. Quilts that have been machine quilted by Cheryl Ashpaugh are done via a hand-guided commercial Gammill Classic Quilting Machine. Hand-guided means there is NO computer involved. Cheryl’s hands actually guide the machine and create the free-motion design as she moves the machine across the quilt.
Quilt name: Linda’s Butterfly’s
Quilt maker: Angie O’Hara, Goodwell, Oklahoma.

This charming old-fashioned butterfly was made as a gift for Angie’s mother-in-law, Linda O’Hara, Garden City, Kansas. Angie hand-appliquéd each butterfly in coordinating colors drawn from the pansy fabric.

Thimbleberries quilt designer, Lynette Jensen has done it again with her popular rich earth tones block of the month patterns entitled, “Safe Haven.” Intrigued by it’s rustic charm, Glenda created a magnificent 92 x 100 quilt depicting a dozen different warm and inviting bird houses sashed and bordered by birds in flight.
